Our client is looking for a well-rounded Group Chief Operating Officer for a fixed term performance-based contract for a period of five-years. The positions will be reporting to the CEO and make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals. Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements. Proactive leadership and guidance are expected to shape the future of the group, thereby ensuring operational efficiencies, excellency and financial sustainability are realised. Accountability: Strategic Objectives Ensure short term plans and long terms strategic objectives are planned and implemented. Effectively manage plant to ensure operational and business objectives are achieved in accordance with the Strategic Plan, Budget, and Customer satisfaction. Meet all deadlines and implement continuous improvement savings to ensure the optimal and efficient use of resources. Product Development Responsible for researching and implementing new processes and techniques, and identify new technologies and technical developments. Advise the Board of introduction of new machinery and materials. Develop and write technical reports and produce cost estimates for the production costs of products. Infrastructure Development and Stakeholder Management Mitigate production risk, taking into consideration new technologies and manufacturing techniques. Ensure appropriate standards are established for plant utilization and performance is monitored against these standards for the optimization of the manufacturing processes. Build and manage sustainable stakeholder relationships, especially with relevant industry policy makers, industry bodies, labour, local authorities etc. Ability to manage a unionized environment. Board and Shareholder engagement and reporting on operational issues. Leadership and Accountability Provide leadership and guidance to ensure that the mission and core values of the group are put into practice. Develop and maintain a sound effective organisational culture that allows the group to reach its objectives and for employees to perform effectively. Facilitate talent management and succession planning for business continuity within operations. Set and maintain the highest standards of governance, ethics and accountability. Implement and ensure adherence to legal requirements and organisational policies. Identification, assessment and mitigating of risks within operations pertaining to the group. Ensure effective management of human capital, processes and company assets. A solid track record in leading and managing in a manufacturing environment – vertical textiles manufacturing experience, especially in weaving and dyeing, would be a definite advantage. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of applicable industry legislation and regulatory framework, including experience in their application. Performance history in the preparation and management of strategy development. Comprehensive experience in people leadership and stakeholders' management. A track record of executing a successful turnaround, in the manufacturing sector, would be an advantage. Qualifications Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent recognized Diploma (Textile Technology /Mechanical Engineering)Working knowledge of Management Systems (e.g. Lean Sigma, Integrated Management Systems – ISO (Phone Number Removed);)Post Graduate qualifications would be advantageous If you do not hear from us within 2 weeks after closing date, please consider your application unsuccessful.
