Responsibilities:
Conduct man assignment and line balance studies to ensure the best utilisation of labour and optimum labour costs within areas of delegated responsibility
Standard Labour Costing: Determine the standard/estimated times for all operations required for product RFQ's and provide this information to the costing department
Packaging and dunnage design, customer liaison, cost saving and implementation
Study and observe implemented systems daily and implement corrective actions as required, and report irresolvable non-conformances to TIE team leader and MFG engineering manager
Establish areas for kaizen activity and set up task teams to improve said areas
Implement and support Kan Ban Programmes
Attend various 8D meetings on quality and process issues and provide relevant technical input
Close out all internal audit findings within areas of delegated responsibility in time and ensure that evidence is provided to show effective close-out
Conduct housekeeping, environmental and health and safety observation tours as scheduled
Daily liaison with line management, and help as required
Compile and submit required monthly reports to MFG engineering manager
Undertake any other projects or tasks as assigned by management from time to time, ensure required levels of efficiency and professionalism within department
Requirements
Industrial engineering degree /diploma
3-4 years industrial engineering experience in an automotive environment
Packaging experience would be a distinct advantage
Ability to assist in the design of factory layouts
Computer literacy must include Auto Cad and Microsoft Office (Word, Projects, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Must have the ability to work under continuous pressure
Have excellent communication skills
