Job Summary:
Lead the legal strategy and support for the Bank and its subsidiaries, focusing on contracts, litigation, dispute resolution, credit, and employment issues.
Key Responsibilities
Routine Duties:
Review and approve documents for credit facility drawdowns, ensuring the Banks interests are protected and conditions are met.
Prepare, review, analyse, and negotiate legal, credit, and security-related documents.
Act as the primary liaison with external counsel.
Ensure the proper protection and perfection of the Banks securities and properties.
Provide transactional and general legal support to the Investment Banking Division.
Support the Bank Remedial Asset Group in credit facility recovery.
Advise various Bank units and sections on legal matters.
Periodic Responsibilities:
Conduct performance assessments of external counsels retained by the Bank.
Perform an annual quality assurance review of the Banks facility and security documentation.

Experience and Qualifications Required
Education: Bachelors Degree in Law (LLB) and BL.
Experience: Minimum of 12 years of legal experience in the financial services industry, with at least 10 years in the banking sector and 5 years at a senior management level.
Skills and Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of domestic and international banking operations.
Expertise in legal financial planning.
Strong policy development and management skills.
Proficiency in legal documentation and advice.
Litigation experience.
In-depth regulatory knowledge.
Corporate governance and compliance monitoring.
Knowledge of financial regulations and risk management standards, both domestic and international.
