Reports to: Director, Dev Ops Job Description and Requirements At Netstock we value efficient support of our internal teams and supplementary servers / services. Our System Administrators are great at spotting problems and creating long-term value-added solutions. Why this mission and role is important to Netstock right now Netstock’s Dev Ops team, which focuses predominantly on Netstock application related tasks (“Core Ops”) and ISO27001 incurred remediations, currently supports all aspects of the Dev Ops and Sys Admin spheres. To assist Dev Ops in focusing more on Core Ops and ISO27001 remediations we would like to employ a System Administrator within the department. Sys Admin and Dev Ops will be centrally managed by the Dev Ops Director. Sys Admins form a subset of the Dev Ops department and would be responsible for supporting all of Netstock’s supplementary (non-core Application related) ICT requirements, of which Linux experience is a non-negotiable Responsibilities Monitor, diagnose and remediate. You will assist with monitoring, diagnosing and remediating all aspects of Netstock’s supplementary services. This includes infrastructure, platforms and services monitoring, capacity and performance monitoring as well as security and network monitoring. Report on and manage assets. Assist multiple departments with reporting requirements on various Netstock assets. Also assist the security department in managing some of the aforementioned assets. Report on the health of the environment, identify risks and areas for improvement. Provisioning, maintenance and patching. Provision additional servers and services in support of the Netstock’s supplementary requirements. You’ll be expected to provision new servers on a continual basis. Planned maintenance and patching will mostly take place during on-call weekends which are rotated among team members. Action operational requests via the Service Desk: Action L2 operational requests such as restoring backups, creation of test instances and customer migrations. Action L1 Internal IT requests such as onboarding / terminating employee hardware, access management to internal applications and more. Ensure Data Security: managing anti-virus, software patching, managing all threats and incidents as logged by employees and the Security team. Promote the service desk function to employees. Support and maintain the portfolio of IT services within service lifecycle management processes. Security and Audits. Perform Incident Response (IR), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Business Continuity Management (BCM) tests and document the results. Work with Dev Ops to implement improvements. Work with Information Security to ensure implementation of security, governance and compliance tools and controls. Participate in audits and assessments as required to ensure ISO 27001 requirements are met. Processes and SLA's. Document relevant policies, standards, processes and procedures relevant to the improvement of service delivery and performance, including SLA's. Manage processes around the provision and management of ICT services. Identify means to improve IT service quality within established boundaries. Work with service providers to improve processes in order to increase productivity and efficiency. Research, assess and recommend processes able to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Build and maintain sound relationships with relevant stakeholders. Core hours are 08:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, working remotely, however depending on business needs, these may shift to support additional AU or US hours. You will also be required to work on-call, on weekends / public holidays, based on the team roster.
