We have an opportunity available in Johannesburg for a Logistics Controller.
Candidates are expected to be able to perform the following: Co-ordinating and planning of all local procured cargoes and road freight to DRC for in-gauge and out of gauge (abnormal) cargoes. Co-ordinating and planning import RIT & RIB clearance for sea freight shipments, monitor shipment to ensure that containers do not incur demurrage costs. Liaise with the various Suppliers / LSP to ensure timeous upliftment of cargo. Planning of loads and maximizing truck capacity to ensure that deadlines are met. Booking of trucks and sending out pre-alerts timeously. Arrange Marine Insurance / surveyor inspection when required. Track all shipments and update reports accordingly. Monitoring POD and send to client as proof of receipt. Ensure accuracy and timeline of RFQ. Make sure all payments to LSP should be done 15 days upon receipt of full documents. Request and check all new supplier required documents. Ensuring all documents for all shipments are uploaded and saved on the Share Point and hard copies kept where necessary. Complete processing of contracts until signed by both parties. Timely and efficient resolution of all queries.
Candidates need to have at least a college education; additional qualification of supply chain will be preferred. Minimum of two years of proven experience in the logistics field and understand the various shipping Incoterms. Have geographical knowledge of Southern Africa and the import / export process. Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular). Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work. Attention to detail with good problem-solving skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Efficient when working in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in data analysis.
Basic salary of between R 28 000.00 to R 32 000.00 on offer and negotiable with benefits to be discussed.
