Intermediate IT Project Manager (Paynments)

As the Intermediate to Senior Project Manager to one of South Africa’s leading Broadcasting Agencies, your primary responsibility will be to lead and oversee the successful execution of strategic initiatives and projects within a dynamic and innovative environment. You will be instrumental in driving cross-functional collaboration, managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.

Responsibilities in Project Management:

-Develop project charters to establish clear objectives and scope.

-Lead weekly project meetings for communication and progress tracking.

-Provide weekly progress reports, including meeting minutes and action logs.

-Monitor project deliverables and implement corrective actions as needed.

-Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies.

-Control scope changes, ensuring business case updates and customer signoffs.

-Chair project/program meetings, preparing minutes and reports for SteerCo, status, and stakeholder meetings.

-Direct and motivate project teams to deliver within time, cost, and quality parameters.

-Update project plans to reflect changing requirements and timelines.

-Escalate issues to sponsors, technical leads, and stakeholders as necessary.

-Manage change registers and change controls to track scope modifications.

-Oversee overall project scope, schedules, deliverables, communications, and risks.

-Monitor key interdependencies and complexities, ensuring effective communication across the business.

-Oversee project registration, administration, and execution in alignment with company objectives.

-Provide comprehensive project documentation for transparency and accessibility.

-Ensure projects adhere to the Project Management Methodology, standards, and business strategy.

-Support the Programme Manager and Head of PMO as needed.

Responsibilities in Financial Management:

-Own and maintain the project budget, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial guidelines.

-Develop financial plans and forecasts for project budgeting and resource allocation.

-Optimize costs to keep project delivery within budget.

-Manage procurement processes, including obtaining quotes, placing orders, and ensuring timely invoice payments.

-Monitor and report on budgets across projects to ensure financial transparency and accountability.

-Provide financial oversight and contribute to budget planning for Value Engineering (VE) projects.

-Monitor and manage expenditures, addressing any budget variances.

-Contribute to the definition and implementation of financial controls and decision-making processes.

-Analyze expenditures, explain variances, and advise on budget options.

Requirements:

-Degree in Business Management, Project Management, or IT

-Project Management qualifications (Required)

-Agile Certification/Qualifications (Advantageous)

-A minimum of 8 -10 years project management

-Broadcast industry experience

-Knowledge of the OTT/VOD/SVOD environment

-Advanced understanding of systems design and solution architecture

-Project Management (PMBOK/Prince2/Agile)

-Budget Development & Management

-Planning and Scheduling (MS Projects or similar)
